CLIFFORD SWEETNAM – Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer Clifford Sweetnam is responsible for machine design. Cliff enjoys meeting with our customers at the early stage of an idea to understand their needs and requirements, he works closely with customers to develop the initial concepts, structure the proposals and the ROI.

Cliff has considerable experience with proof of concept trials or prototyping to de-risk complex automation projects, particularly for medical device sector.

A graduate of Mechanical Engineering Cliff has worked with Somex Automation since 2005 and has experienced some of the major growth stages in the company during this time including relocation to a purpose-built facility in 2009 and upgrades to 3D modelling packages helping to keep Somex Automation in line with customer requirements.

Cliff takes a personal interest in ensuring customers machines built to his design are performing as expected long after they have left the Somex Automation factory, and when he is not busy pooling talents in Somex Automation, Clifford enjoys spending time with team mates of a different kind, on the hockey pitch.
