SHANE FOLEY – Mechanical Technician

Mechanical Technician Shane Foley turns the creative vision of Somex Automation design engineers into reality. Assembly of new machines is Shane’s responsibility, and he works alongside the designers to ensure their vision is fully achieved.

With a background and qualifications in automobile engineering he is very skilled in both mechanical and electrical assembly, the primary disciplines required for accurate machine building.

Shane joined the Somex Automation team in 2010, and particularly enjoys the hands-on element of his job. He gets great satisfaction from building Somex Automation’s ground-breaking new equipment from scratch and seeing it successfully come together.

Shane is acutely aware of the high standards required by customers and takes pride in the quality and innovation of the equipment he assembles. This attention to detail has been one of the many skills that Shane brings to Somex Automation, ensuring it is done right first time.

Such precision also comes in handy outside Somex Automation as he spends much of his off time maintaining and repairing his own track car.
